A Dallas club known for its pop-culture decorations changes its decor to an Austin Powers theme
Dallas bar The Whippersnapper endorses pop culture themes and has a fantastic pop-up for 2023. The Electric Shagadelic Pussycat Swingers Club is a British invasion-style idea predicated on Mike Myers' 1960s comic character Austin Powers.
The pop-up will open on February 9, according to a press statement.
The renowned nightclub in the Austin Powers movie series is called The Electric Shagadelic Pussycat Swingers Club. The pop-up will provide specialized food and drink menus, interactive activities, local art, photo spots, and evening entertainment.
Expect Austin Powers and the cast of popular characters from the smash movies of the late 1990s to reside at The Whippersnapper off Henderson Avenue at 1806 McMillan Ave.
The Whippersnapper is a member of This & That Hospitality, which also owns neighborhood favorites including Double D's, High Fives, Tiny Victories, Sfuzzi, and Ferris Wheelers.
Visitors are welcome to enter this tacky and swinging piece of 1960s popular culture, preferably dressed in period clothing.
The following are some examples of food and drinks:
Get in My Belly Burger: A double meat patty, two pieces of cheddar, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and special sauce on a white bun.
Mama Cass: Multigrain wheat with roasted herb turkey, avocado, tomato, cucumber, bacon, and lemon aioli.
Mini Me: your choice of fries or tater tots.
Freaking Laser Beam: Screwball Whiskey, Cranberry, Lemon, and Lime with a gummy shark as a garnish.
Goldmembe: Denizen Rum, banana, pineapple, and orange topped with a gold sugar rim.
The co-founder of This & That Hospitality, Phil Schanbaum, comments on the movie's influence on popular culture in a statement. The movie was legendary and inspired two similarly funny sequels. It's always been one of his favorite movies, so he's looking forward to everyone bringing their A-game to The Whip next month.
