Creators Program Closed by Pinterest

Many different websites have developed creator programs that allow frequent users of those websites to make fun posts and entertaining content on those websites and earn money for things they make. YouTube has a Partners Program that gives YouTube creators an opportunity to monetize their videos, and Newsbreak has a Contributors Program for those who write local news articles to help authors make money from views of their various posts.

For some period of time, Pinterest has adopted a similar strategy and paid some of its most popular creators to make content that skyrocketed Pinterest profits in the first place. Things seemed to be going well at first, but now Pinterest is ending its Creator Rewards program, which allowed creatives to make money from posts. Initially, Pinterest users who participated in the program made money by creating content for monthly prompts on specific engagement goals set by Pinterest.

As noted on Pinterest's Creator Rewards Help page, "The Creator Rewards program will end on November 30, 2022. To all the creators who participated, thank you for your partnership. We’re committed to exploring more ways to help you find success on Pinterest and we’re looking forward to finding more opportunities to work together in 2023.”

When it was still running, the Rewards program asked the participants to create Idea Pins, a video format launched by Pinterest last year and based on monthly topics  to earn payments.
