Last modified 29 April 2026

New York (AP) - A stage musical comedy about woke goddesses that uses hit songs by Britney Spears will land on Broadway this summer.

"Once Upon a One Further Time", featuring Spears' melodies, including “Oops! I Did It Again”, “Lucky”, “Stronger ” and' 'Poisonous”, will start performances in May at the Marquis Theatre.

The musical comedy has an original story written by Jon Hartmere about classic puck tale goddesses Cinderella, Snow White and Little Mermaid, among them who are converted after reading “ The womanlike Mystique”, a corner feminist textbook.

“Once Upon a One further Time” first played at The Shakespeare Theatre Company, known for its further stately immolations. It'll be directed and arranged by Keone and Mari Madrid. The cast will be blazoned at a after date.

Britney Spears' Massive Pop Songs to Land on Broadway, Again

The temptation to use formerly proven, popular songs to fuel a musical comedy is an old one, and on Broadway has recently led to shows with music from The Temptations, Bob Dylan, The Go Go’s, Tina Turner and Alanis Morissette.

Broadway suckers may be forgiven for responding with “ Oops! I Did It Again ” since numerous of Spears' successes are in “ & Juliet" a jukebox musical comedy now on Broadway that celebrates one of her jotting mates and directors, Max Martin — including her. “Baby One further Time” and “Stronger”.

The musical comedy's progression is another step in the independence of Spears after her conservatorship case garnered public attention amid her attempts to recapture control over her finances and livelihood.
